I managed to get this one done before the year ended. I drove around this morning looking for a place to paint. I found it in a small parking area here in LaCrescenta near a children's camp.

It's been a while since my last chance to paint. It felt good to be out again and painting. I should do it more often.

This was done a couple of weeks ago. Things have been a little crazy lately, so I haven't been doing lunch time painting. I'll need to make a point of getting back to it after Thanksgiving.

I recently started working with Imagi Studios as a colorist/concept artist. I found that some of the other concept artist sometimes go to the parking garage on their lunch breaks and paint the surrounding areas. In this case that would be the 405 freeway in Sherman Oaks California.

I did these over the past few weeks with my friend Gloria Shih. In addition to being a great concept artist she is also a darn good landscape painter as well as being good company when were taking the time to paint.

I did this about three weeks ago. Katelin was doing her Advanced Open Water dives, so I had nothing to do but try and do a quick painting while she was diving. This was done while she was doing her deep dive. For her age she was able to go down to 60 feet. Pretty cool!

I knew I only had a short time on this one plus the wind was blowing around so it was a little difficult to get it done. I did go back into it a little more later. This is at a dive site on Catalina Island.

Here was my contribution to the Nucleus "Revenge of the Ninja 2" show. If your over in Alhambra California you should go over and check out the show. It will be up till September 3. Also check out the store while you are there, it's pretty cool.

I went away for a week to Grand Cayman Island. It rained the first couple of days when we got there. But we still did some snorkeling those first couple of days. When the weather cleared my daughters and myself got in a couple of days of Scuba Diving, the first dives for Isabelle my youngest since she finished her certification. Visibility under water is always great there, I would guess we could see about 80 feet and every where you look there is sea life.

The paintings below I managed to get in on a couple of mornings. I think the biggest problem I had was trying to find a shaded area long enough to finish painting. The sun is very strong and bright down there!

Did this one this morning. This is a maintenance

path and gate that runs on the side of my property.

That side is a run off canyon, we always see some sort of

wildlife over there, mostly deer, coyote, skunks and the

occasional Bobcat or Fox. It's pretty cool but it drives the

dog nuts.

I did this while I was waiting for my daughter to take one of her

first open water scuba dives.

This was in Laguna Beach early Sunday morning.

Another one at the Pasadena B&G club, this past Saturday 6/30.

I didn't get to finish.

This was done at the Pasadena Boys and Girls club while my daughter
was taking her Scuba lesson, a little over a week ago.

I did this during lunch this past Wednesday. It's been a long time since I've painted using Gouache. I was always frustrated by them, being too much of an oil guy. I hope to over come some of that frustration by taking time to do more of these lunch time sessions.

I was planning on putting something new here. But I ended up working this weekend and didn't get a chance to do a new piece. Anyways, here's something I did a little while back.
